Directions to Workshops

The Zen Center is located fifteen miles north of Providence, from any direction.

Follow the directions below and Take 1-295 to Exit 10 (Route 122). At the traffic light at the end of the ramp, turn right, and go 1.5 miles on that Road. After you pass under the footbridge, take the next right onto Pound Road. (If you pass a gas station, you have gone too far.) Drive3/4 of a mile on Pound Road. Providence Zen Center is on the right, with a 65-foot pagoda in the front yard. There is ample free parking in the field to the right of the driveway.

To get to 1-295:

-From Providence, take Route 146 North to 1-295 North
-From Attleboro, take 1-95 North to 1-295 South
-From Boston, 1-95 South to 1-295 South
-From Worcester, take Route 146 South to 1-295 North
-From western Massachusetts, take the Massachusetts Turnpike to exit 10, to Route 20 -East, to Route 146 South, to 1-295 North
-From New Hampshire, take 1-495 South, to 1-95 South, to 1-295 South
-From New York City or Southern Connecticut, lake 1-95 North to 1-295 North

Please call the Zen Center during office hours to arrange a pick-up from the airport in Providence to the Zen Center.

Office Hours:

Monday-Friday 9:00am-12:00noon and 1:00pm-4:00pm
Please No arrivals at the Zen Center after 10:00pm.
No pick-ups after 10:00pm.
No drop-offs before 5:00am

Make all arrangements 48 hours in advance with the Zen Center staff. The charge for each way is $10.00 and is payable to the Providence Zen Center.

Meals and Lodging

Lodging: Sleeping will be on futons and mattresses on carpeted floors. You should bring a sleeping bag or sheets and blankets; a pillow; towels); any toiletry articles needed and a flashlight.

Meals: The Zen Center will be preparing delicious, nutritious vegetarian meals. Dining is buffet style, with meals eaten in bowls, and guests sitting on cushions on the floor. Guests participate in washing, drying and putting away their own bowls.

House Rules: Guests are asked to observe the following,

-leave shoes in racks at entrances. During cooler months, it is a good idea to wear socks and bring slippers
-smoking is not permitted
-not permitted on the grounds: meat or fish, alcohol or illegal drugs, firearms, pets
-video recording is not permitted
-please ask permission before making audio recordings or photos
-guests are asked not to enter the Monastery without getting permission from Zen Center staff

No food or beverages are allowed in the Dharma Halls. Please respect this.
